Nintendo is expected to reveal its long-teased Switch 2 game console soon—but the gaming giant is making an unexpected deviation with Wednesday’s announcement of an alarm clock.
Yes, really: the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo is a gaming-themed smart alarm clock, looking like Amazon’s Echo Spot but with vibrant gaming vibes and features inspired by the company’s gaming franchises.
Ever wanted to wake up to the incessant sound of Super Mario coins being claimed? That’s one option. Other picks include sounds inspired by The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon franchises. The clock also features sleep sounds, can track your sleep trends, and has a motion sensor to let you snooze the alarm via gestures.
Wake up! Nintendo Sound Clock: #Alarmo is available for early access for Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada!

It doesn’t play games, however, and it’s certainly not the Switch 2.
Also, the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo is priced at $100. It’s available in “early access” right now to Nintendo Switch Online members in the U.S. and Canada, as well as via Nintendo’s NYC retail store. A proper rollout to other stores will begin in early 2025.
