Senate Banking Committee Advances Trump’s SEC Chair Pick Paul Atkins

SEC Delays Decision on BlackRock's Spot Ethereum ETF Application

Paul Atkins, President Trump’s nomination to become the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, passed a vote from the U.S. Senate Banking Committee on Thursday.

Following the 13-11 vote, in which all Democrats were opposed to Trump’s pick, the nomination of Atkins—expected to be a pro-crypto SEC Chair—will now go on to the Senate floor for a full vote.
