Solana meme coin dev, Mikol, was hospitalized with third degree burns in an attempt to pump his TruthOrDare (DARE) token. Now, after nearly two months of rehabilitation, he has started to outline the future of his project and eyes up his next dare: climbing Mount Everest.

“We’re gonna go—me and the team—to base camp Mount Everest, and we’re going to stream it. The flights are already paid for,” Mikol told Decrypt on the ‘What’s the Meta?’ podcast. “We’re going to do a world tour. We’re gonna go to these different parts of the world, meet up with our community, [and] do these crazy dares like climb base camp Mount Everest.”

Mikol launched the TruthOrDare token planning to livestream goofy dares that would pump its price. Five days in, an unnamed community member put a dare to Mikol to douse himself in isopropyl alcohol and have fireworks shot at him. He soon went up in flames while his friends struggled to put out the fire. Once he was rushed to hospital it was revealed that he had suffered third degree burns across 30% of his body.

Despite the traumatic incident, Mikol isn’t done with the project. Instead, he’s planning to build a decentralized app (dapp) where community members can take on dares in exchange for DARE tokens.

“I want to put dares on our website and have a system where people can do dares to earn money,” Mikol told Decrypt’s ‘What’s the Meta?’ podcast. “A lot of these dares can be safe, and people could be earning money to buy their little necessities. Or someone can step out and do the most dangerous or the biggest dare and really make a name out of themselves.”

That said, Mikol confirmed after the interview, the site will have restrictions and guidelines to prevent situations like the one that landed him in an emergency room.

He likened his vision is akin to the 2016 movie “Nerve,” where an app turns into a global phenomenon as it challenges everyday people to play truth or dare while others watch. “This movie stole it from me… even though this movie was created years ago,” Mikol said. He added, the DARE team plan on developing the dapp this month. Currently, he said, the goal is to push it live in August. “We want it perfect,” Mikol said. “As this system is a first of its kind and will change the entire game of crypto.”

In the meantime, Mikol has continued to livestream as he takes on less dangerous dares, like eating raw eggs and dog food. Meanwhile, community members have started to take on challenges themselves, like swallowing an entire tube of wasabi and eating a whole ice cream cone in one bite.

Up until this point, the dev has only streamed locally in Miami. But he hasn’t lost sight of launching a DARE world tour.

“We plan on going to different countries, different states, and meeting up with our community, going to the most popular spots, and basically holding dare events,” Mikol explained. As part of this tour, Mikol and his team aim to climb Mount Everest, streaming it the whole way.

According to the dev, a community member has sent funds for the flights out there so now he just needs to get ready. Mikol claims preparation could take three to five months, depending on his health.
